You can use it to copy multiple items individually and then paste them where you want to. It is activated by using Ctrl-C-C rather than the usual Ctrl-C for copying once. Once you start adding items to the Clipboard you will see them listed and you can click on any of them to paste them to where you want to.

The clipboard allows you to copy information and temperately store it so it can be copied to another location. Windows have a built in clipboard. There are also more advanced clipboard programs available which have additional features.
