However, I often use normal plastic wrap to cover up a bowl with soup when warming it up in a microwave and it does not melt at all. It gets a little soft but that's it.

Remove plastic cover's weatherstrip; Remove plastic cover's center retaining bolt; Remove plastic cover's plastic passenger side 'screw'; Lift out passenger side cover; Filter is in the well. Pull it out. Installation is reverse of removal.
