The current issue Banco de Mexico notes are issued in 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 Peso. Notes of any higher value pre-date devaluation in 1992.
There is no such thing as a Mexican 50 peso dated/ or minted in 1889 and therefore is of no value, intrinsic or bullion. There might be some value for being a novelty. Mexico, during the late Republic period minted 20 peso gold at 5 different mint sites (CA-Chihuahua, CN-Culiacan, GO-Guanahuato, MO-Mexico City, and ZS- Zacatecas). There design is known as the "Balance Scale", which was also used in other gold and silver coins, including minor issues.
