They are called Morgan dollars and were struck from 1878 to 1904 and in 1921 for the last time. The 1894O is a little harder date to come by and retail values are better for lower grade coins: G-4 $35.00/ VG-8 $47.00/ F-12 $51.00/ VF-20 $56.00/ EF-40 $107.00. Coins graded AU-50 to AU-58 are $204.00-$385.00. Mint state coins start at $650.00
Assuming the coin is circulated, the 1909-O Barber half is a more common date of the series. Because most coins show heavy wear, for an accurate assessment of value the coin needs to be seen and graded. In general retail values as of 8-31-11 for low grade coins are $20.00-$65.00, better grade are $100.00-$325.00 and coins showing almost no wear run from $450.00-$875.00. Values are a market average and only for coins in collectible condition, coins that are bent, corroded, scratched, used as jewelery or have been cleaned have far less value if any to a collector or dealer.
1902-O Morgans are common, values for circulated examples run from $17.00-$26.00
