I recommend that you go to eBay and look up the Coins category, and try to find some more Canadian cents being auctioned there. I have seen some recently, and you may possibly be able to get one or two dollars for it. They are not highly unusual, and they are not highly collectible. They are on a par with our American copper pennies.

Here is a bit more info on your coin:

KM# 7

OBV: Queen Victoria Crowned Head Left

REV: Maple Wreath Encircles Value And Date

Composition: 95.5% Copper, 3% Tin, 1.5% Zinc

Weight (g): 5.40

Diameter (mm): 25.50

Mintage: 1,000,000 or with "H" Mintmark 2,600,000

The "H" Mint Mark is the more common coin usually sold for $3-$5 in VG-VF condition.

The more uncommon of the two can go for $9-$20 in VG-VF condition.

Answer

In circulated condition it's worth about 50 cents.
