Indian head pennies are valuable. Prices range from a dollar to hundreds of dollars, but to a coin collector gold plating actually takes away some of the value. Coin collectors are looking for coins in mint condition, that is, the way they came from the mint.
First, get it graded. Most coin dealers and high-end pawn shops have someone on-staff qualified to grade coinage, for a fee of course. Coin value is highly dependent on this grade. Also, they will be able to tell if it is a genuine coin or a counterfeit.
As for the value, the 1929 $5 Indian gold coin is the rarest of the $5 gold coins, and worth more than other $5 gold coins. A lot more. The minimum value to expect for a genuine 1929 $5 Gold Coin is about $7500, in any condition.
I'd say any COPY of ANY coin would be worth the metal content and MAYBE a little more. If it is a FAMOUS COPY/COUNTERFIT or High Class REPLICA coin like perhaps some from the Gallery Mint in Arkansas, that are limited, clearly marked "replica" and easily authenticated as such, they often bring a bit more of a premium as collectors seek them out and they are limited. REAL numismatic coins depend on rarity, condition, and market conditions and metal values. Common dates of well worn condition are cheap, Low mintage coins in pristine condition are rarer and therefore much more valuable. There is nearly ALWAYS a market for clean, problem free, authenticated, Rare, High quality coins. Most serious collectors will pass on mediocrity while casual collectors aren't as descriminating.
Value varries between 220 and 450 dollars, depending on the state of conservation.

9,000,000 dollars
For the 1909 Indian Head Half Eagle ($5) coins, mintmarks are located on the reverse, between the rim and the tip of the arrow heads of the bundle of arrows the eagle is standing on. They are very small and can be a little hard to see.
Sorry the mintmarks are small letters not owls. Perhaps you're looking for the wrong thing!
Current retail value for a certified 1908 Half Eagle is about $5,000.00 in MS-64
I would say 50 cents...unless 1909 is a super rare year in coin collecting or something. Then it could be worth a lot. But don't take my word for it.
The mint mark for the 1909 Half Eagle is located on the reverse {eagle} side of the coin just to the left of the arrow points.
if it is very fine condition $200. mint state condition and higher $450+
Please check your coin again and post a new question. The Indian head design was used on 1-cent coins minted from 1859 to mid-1909. US half cents have a picture of Miss Liberty on the front.
