July 19, 2009 The 1911 half eagle was minted in 3 US Mint facilities; Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. The mintmark for this coin can be found on the reverse [tails] side of the coin just left of the eagle's perch. The letter "D" indicates the coin was minted at Denver. The letter "S" indicates the coin was minted at San Francisco. If there is no letter, that indicates the coin was minted at the Philadelphia mint. The values for the more common grades of the 1911 half eagle are shown in the chart below. Circulated Grades...........1911-P.........1911-D..............1911-S VF30................................$350.............$425.................$410 EF40............................... $360.............$600.................$450 AU55...............................$400..............$1750...............$600 Uncirculated Grades MS60...............................$525..............$5500...............$1000 MS62...............................$1120.............$14,000...........$2600 MS63...............................$3300.............$45,000...........$4900 MS64...............................$5975.............$55,000...........$19,000
