Assuming the coin is circulated and has no mintmark, the 1911 Quarter Eagle is common. The Mint made some changes in the planchets used for coinage this year and they appear slightly granular. For an accurate assessment of value the coin needs to be seen and graded. In general retail values for low grade coins are $205.00-240.00, better grade are $280.00-$305.00 and coins showing almost no wear run from $310.00-$340.00. Values are a market average and only for coins in collectible condition, coins that are bent, corroded, scratched, used as jewelery or have been cleaned have far less value if any to a collector or dealer
I need to know the coin's denomination (is it a quarter eagle, a half eagle, etc) and its mint state in order for me to relay to you its current value.
$11 to $11,000 depending on the condition of the coin.
The US Mint issued gold coins in 4 denominations in 1908; the Quarter Eagle { $2.50 }, the Half Eagle { $5.00 }, the Eagle {$10.00 }, the Double Eagle { $20.00 }. Please examine your coin and submit a new question giving the denomination as well as the date of the coin.
I will put a value of $420.00 retail on this coin. That's the value of a Extremely Fine graded Quarter Eagle dated 1888
Current retail values run from $1,500.00 to $1,600.00 for circulated examples. The 1911 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is not rare.
On the reverse of the quarter eagle, the eagle is sitting on a bundle of arrows. To the left of the arrows there will be a "D" which means you have a 1911 D quarter eagle, the key date. If there is no letter "D" to the left of the arrows, you have just a 1911 quarter eagle (occasionally called a 1911-P because it was struck in Philadelphia, however it doesn't have a P mintmark).
Please report back to me and tell me the coin's denomination - is it a quarter eagle, a half eagle, etc. (?) and the coin's mint state.
Retail value for this coin is $650.00 in certified MS-61

Do you mean "eagle quarter" or "quarter eagle"?There really isn't any US coin called an "eagle quarter"because ALL quarters up to 1998 had an eagle on the back. However, there WAS a coin called a "quarter eagle" - it was a gold coin with the somewhat strange denomination of $2.50 that was issued up till the US went off the gold standard in the early 1930s.

Other than for traders tokens, there was no Australian currency until 1911. Australia did not produce a Quarter Farthing coin.
The first U.S. quarter was issued in 1796. It is a Draped Bust type with the small eagle reverse. Also this coin does not have a "Mark of Value" such as 25 CENTS or Quarter Dollar.
Around the value of a JFK Golden Eagle coin.
Sorry, no E series US coin of any type. But a 1911 Quarter Eagle has retail values of $178.00-$300.00 depending on grade.
The 'Eagle Reverse" was last used in 1998 for the Washington quarters. Look at the reeding on the edge of the coin. You should see a seam an the reeds won't mach up. This is NOT a U.S. mint error coin. It has been altered and has no numismatic collectible value.
