Look on the back of the coin to see if there's a small mint mark letter below the eagle. It may be blank or there may be a D.

The Barber design (named for the coin's designer, Charles Barber) was discontinued in the middle of 1916 and was replaced with the famous Standing Liberty quarter, so there are two completely separate designs from that year. 1916 Standing Liberty quarters are extremely scarce, so any such coins should be inspected by an expert to ensure they're genuine.

In 1916, the Denver Mint did not strike any Standing Liberty quarters, only Barber quarters were struck at Denver. The Standing Liberty quarter was only struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1916.
By far, the most valuable quarter is the 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter Dollar - its value in good condition (G4) is: $3000. places the value of the 1916 Quarter at $3900 in G4 and $35,000 in MS66 (but look fast, it may be higher by the time I finish typing this).
