1917 Standing Liberty Quarter---There were minted 2 different varities each of 3 different mint marks of this coin. good condition vary in value from $13.00 to $25.00 mint condition- from $275.00 to $400.00
Update as of 02/2010:You'll need to check two things: First, look for a mint mark at the bottom of the pedestal that has IN GOD on it. It may not have one, or there may be a small D or S. The "M" on the other pedestal is the designer's monogram, not a mint mark. Second, look at the back of the coin. If the eagle is towards the bottom of the design next to the words QUARTER DOLLAR, you have what's called a Type I quarter. If the eagle is in the middle of the coin with 3 stars under it, that's called a Type II.
