There are Flying Eagle cents and there are Indian Head cents but they're not the same coin. Please look again and post a new, separate question with the coin's date/
As the names might suggest, Flying Eagle cents have a picture of a soaring eagle on the front while Indian Head cents have a stylized Native American image*. Also Flying Eagle cents were minted only in 1856-1858 but the first Indian cents were minted in 1859 so there was no overlap in production.
(*) The image technically represents Miss Liberty and was modelled by the designer's daughter, but everyone calls them Indian Head cents anyway!
1894 is an Indian Head cent. The Flying Eagles were struck in 1856-1857-1858 only. Retail prices for the 94 Indian are $3.00-$12.00 in average circulated condition.
Flying Eagle cent was created in 1857.
Please check your coin again and post a new, separate question. Wheat cents were minted from 1909 to 1958. A cent from the 1800s would be either a Large Cent, a flying eagle cent, or an Indian head cent.
Its date is EXTREMELY important. Please check the Related Questions.
Flying eagle cents were minted from 1856 to 1858. Please check again and post a new question.
The first 5-cent US nickel was made in 1866, the 3-cent nickel in 1865, and the copper-nickel flying eagle 1-cent in 1856.
Prior to that was the Flying Eagle cent, which was only minted for three years (1856-58).
Value will depend on which type you have (Large Cent or Flying Eagle Cent) and its condition. 1857 is a rarer date for large cents. It will be about the size of a half dollar. Well-worn it's worth about $30 -- lightly worn about $100 -- uncirculated about $200 If it's a Flying Eagle cent, it will be the same size as today's pennies. Well-worn it's worth about $12 -- lightly worn about $30 -- uncirculated about $200

This coin in average circulated condition (grades below EF-40) has values from $25.00-$60.00 depending on the actual grade. It needs to be seen for an accurate value.
6-5-11>>> Assuming the coin is a 1857 Flying Eagle cent that has not been cleaned and in circulated condition, retail value for a low grade coin should be at least $25.00. I do suggest showing it to a dealer or collector for grading.
The US only struck flying eagle cents in 1856-58. Please check again and post a new question. If your coin is 1858 where the 8 is worn to look like a 3, please see the Related Question for more information.
