For most coins you really need to post a coin's date as well as its mint mark to get an accurate evaluation. Fortunately Kennedy halves are easy to value because so many of them were struck and there are no rare dates.
1964 : about $7 for its silver content
1965-69 : reduced silver content, about $3.25
1971-present : made of copper-nickel, worth 50¢ only.

Unless it is in Uncirculated condition (in which case it may be worth a couple of dollars), a 1973-D Kennedy half dollar is only worth fifty cents. All circulating half dollars dated 1971 and later are made of copper-nickel, so they really do not have any premium value.

1964 Kennedy halves are extremely common, currently worth about $10 for the silver content. Also, V isn't a mint mark on any US coin.
