Based on the serial no that must be a model 12C made in 1917. The value of a model 12 is greatly dependent on condition and can be worth anywhere from 100 - 1,200 for a mint new in the box. A model 12 in good condition, (not collector condition) is generally valued in the 300-500.

Rather than serial numbers, the DOM of a Remington may be determined by the barrel code. Two or three letters stamped on the LEFT side of the barrel immediately in front of the receiver (frame) you may need a magnifier and a strong light to read them. Then look up your code using the link at the bottom of this page.

This is a model 12C and RW isn't really part of the serial no, it stands for Remington Works. Maybe on the date code for some but not for this one since it was made in early 1920 before they started the date coding the barrels.

That is a Remington Model 12 (round barrel probably a 12-A) based on the serial this was made in 1912 and before they put the model 12 on the left side of the receiver. The RW stands for Remington Works and is really not part of the serial no. Excellent little rifles and very much a collector in better condition.
