All old Winchester model 1886 rifles are very collectable.I have seen them sell for a price between 2,000-3,000 dollars on todays market.I would advise you to have your rifle evaluated by a member of the Winchester collectors assoc.and have them set a price for your fine old Winchester rifle.
There are so many variables that could affect the value of your winchester model 1886 that you would be prudent to have your rifle appraised by a member of the winchester collectors assoc,or a firearms expert employed by many of the better firearms auction houses here in the U.S. Your winchester model 1886 was made in 1895 by winchester and with the many options that could be ordered at that time the value could be anywhere from 2,000 dollars up to 4,500 dollars.
value depends on overall condition. And, I think you mean 45/70 cal. for the 1986 model or do you mean 1886 ???????????
45
Your Winchester model 1886 rifle was 1 of 526 made in the year 1916.These rifles have a very respectable collector value. That can range between 900-4,000 dollars depending on overall condition, and any special order features that could be had at that time.I would seriously consider having a member of the Winchester collectors assoc.evaluate your rifle and supply a value.
Impossible to answer without the serial number.
value is determined by overall gun condition....
Winchester 1886 take down ValuesThe Winchester 1886, take down, in 95% is one of the more collectable model 1886 rifles. If un altered and in 95%, the rifle can bring from $7,000 to $12,000 from many collectors. At really slow auctions, I have seen them bring as little as $5,000.00 Mark S. According to an ad in Gun Digest a Winchester model 1876 Carbine 45-75 in 80% condition is $9,850.
The only Winchester chambered in 45-60 was the Winchester model 1876 rifle.
The 45-75 W.C.F. was designed for, and used almost exclusively in the Winchester Model 1876 lever-action rifle. When Winchester introduced the Model 1886 lever-action 10-years later in the more powerful (and popular) 45-70 cartridge, the Model 1876 quickly faded into obscurity, though Winchester did continue to make 45-75 cartridges up to the year 1935. Potentially it isi worth several thousand $$$$, but the only sure way to know is to have it appraised, which requires a visual inpection & evaluation. Bert H.
