None of the Bicentennial half dollar coins made for general circulation contain any silver or are worth more than face value. Only Proof and collectors coins sold from the US Mint are worth more.

If your half dollar is absolutely uncirculated maybe it's worth $1.00 at most. A circulated bicentennial half dollar is worth 50 cents, unless it's a proof coin or one of the special 40% silver coins struck for collectors in 1975 and 1976. The proof coins and silver coins both have a little letter "S" (for the San Francisco Mint) beneath Kennedy's neck.

Bicentennial coins were struck for two years, 1975 and 1976, and there are millions of them around.
