No miniature double eagles were made by the US Mint. Because of this, there is no collector value in these coins. Instead, any value comes from the metal content, however, since these weren't made by the mint they could be made with any metal at all. Take your coin to a jeweler and they can tell you what metal it is made out of and then from there you can figure out a value based on the metal content.
I do not have an answer but I am looking for an answer also. Should you find out the value would you please e-mail me? ... lizly109@hotmail.com Thank you so very much.
In 1909 the price of gold was under $20 an once and a twenty dollar gold coin had .96 of an once of gold. That same once of gold is now worth over $1000. So to put it in perspective, if in 1909 you had 20,000 (twenty thousand dollars) you would have the same buying power as someone with $1,000,000 (one million dollars) today.
There were no dollar coins minted in 1909. If you have a dollar coin with a 1909 date on it, it is either a fantasy coin, silver round, or most likely a Chinese counterfeit -- I have seen many of these. In any case, its value will be only for whatever silver it may contain.
A 1909 Half Eagle can be worth well over $500.00
Please look at the date again, no US dollar coins are dated 1909.
$670.00-$970.00 are the current retail values for this coin.

No such US coin exists. Silver dollars were not minted from 1905-1920.
6-5-11>>> Assuming the coin is a 1909 Barber half dollar that has not been cleaned and is in average circulated condition, retail value for a lower grade coin should be at least $17.00 to $35.00. I do suggest showing it to a dealer or collector for grading and a better idea of value..
About 400 - 430 dollar. There are three verslons. With the letter D, O or S.

Nothing, because there's no such thing. No Morgan dollars were minted anywhere that year.
