My first suggestion would be to get the latest Blue Book of Gun Values. Secondly, I'd start looking at Gunbroker.com and Auction Arms for going rates...going rates for this particular gun as sold, not listed. Most listed are priced above and beyond.

Determine if the Model 70 you have is pre-64. The collectors value of a pre-64 will bring you more cash/value. All of course depends on over all condition of the firearm. Whatever the value is determined to be, it's not worth separating yourself from.

The 250-3000 is a hard firearm to come by these days. They are around, especially in Savage 250-3000, but you'll pay top dollar to own one. The Winchester and ruger models are much, much harder to find.

Once you have a good idea of what's in your hands and fair market value of firearm...promise yourself to never sell it. Be sure to pass it down as an heirloom for generations to come.
