Look on the back of the coin to see if there's a small mint mark letter. It may be blank or there may be a C, D or O.

You didn't specify whether it's a silver dollar or a gold dollar; both types were minted in 1852. If it's a silver dollar with that date it should be checked by a dealer to make sure it's not counterfeit. 1852 is a scarce date for Seated Liberty dollars and there are many fakes on the market. It's NOT gold and just a dollar. The last year the US made a one dollar gold coin was 1889.
