Look on the back of the coin to see if there's a small mint mark letter below the eagle. It may be blank or there may be a C or D.

Numismedia lists the following approximate retail values as of 08/2014:

No mint mark (Philadelphia):

Very worn condition - $276

Moderately worn - $300

Slightly worn - $312

Almost no wear - $368

Uncirculated - $438 to $20,480 depending on quality

"C" mint mark (Charlotte):

Moderately worn - $1,720

Slightly worn - $2,060

Almost no wear - $7,862

Uncirculated - $19,380 to $106,250

"D" mint mark (Dahlonega, GA):

Very worn - $276

Moderately worn - $2,750

Slightly worn - $5,190

Almost no wear - $19,416

Uncirculated - $46,150 to $46,200

DISCLAIMER: The retail values quoted are the best available as of the date shown, but may vary significantly due to changes in the precious metals market. Also the wholesale (buying) price of a coin will be less than the selling (retail) price. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation based on inspection of the coin.
