UpdatedLook on the back of the coin to see if there's a small mint mark letter below the eagle. It may be blank or there may be an O or S.

Numismedia lists the following approximate retail values as of 09/2010:

No mint mark (Philadelphia):

Very worn condition - $29

Moderately worn - $53

Slightly worn - $72

Almost no wear - $274

Uncirculated - $540 to $29,380 depending on quality

"O" mint mark (New Orleans):

Very worn - $28

Moderately worn - $52

Slightly worn - $83

Almost no wear - $306

Uncirculated - $510 to $14,380

"S" mint mark (San Francisco):

Very worn - $29

Moderately worn - $60

Slightly worn - $78

Almost no wear - $456

Uncirculated - $1,050 to $23,130

DISCLAIMER: The values quoted are the best available, but may vary due to market fluctuations. Also the wholesale (buying) price of a coin will be less than the selling (retail) price. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation based on inspection of the coin.
