A coin blank that made it through the Mint without being struck is often called a "flan". If the flan is from a modern zinc cent (weight 2.5 gm) it's worth about $1. If it's from an older bronze cent (3.11 gm) it's worth about $2 if the coin's rim is raised, and $3 if the edge is flat.
