I have a art of chokin plate, and it from Japan and its was my great grandmothers plate from late 80's its gold, silver and copper; and its the fall wheel barrel with flowers. The only thing is I don't know what it is worth or who made it. Please help.
it may not have value like antiques would, but the gold would get you money.
no gold plate is less valuable gold filled has more value
Its value is based only on the value of the metals it contains. A plated coin has no true numismatic value.
July 24, 2009 Gold plating a coin destroys its numismatic value. The Bicentennial quarter is worth but a quarter plus the value of the bit of gold used to plate it.
The US mint did not make this coin, it was done outside of the mint an is gold plated or copper plate, but it still has value for the silver under the plating. It's worth about a dollar.
Gold plate may appear greener but gold plate should be fairly pure gold and unaffected by honey (or most other materials).
The Mint has never made gold quarters. If you have a gold quarter then it has been plated which destroys the numismatic value of the coin. Its value is 25 cents plus the value of the little bit of gold they used to plate it. Some chemicals can cause the quarter to turn different colors. This also does not enhance the value of the coin.
The extra date and the gold plate were added after the coin left the mint. Collector value = none. Novelty value = a couple dollars.
The same as a salad plate without gold. The amount of gold in the decoration is so small it has no value to scrap gold buyers. That plate might have value to a china replacement service or to a china collector though. They might be interested in buying it to sell to someone who collects that pattern or to add to their own collection. A service like Replacements.com would be able to quote you a price, and also check ebay, Etsy and Ruby Lane, websites where collectors often look for pieces they need.
It is most likely worthless. Gold clad simply is a fancy word for gold plated. Even on a large object, the price to de-plate the piece is too expensive for the amount of gold you are going to recover.
