I own a 1986 Toyota pick up with a 4 cyl. 22R engine, and the fuel pump is located at the top left hand corner of the engine block ( looking at the engine from the front of the truck ).
Just go ahead and rip out the ignition cylinder that is in the truck now. Then go to an auto parts place and get a new one.
My 1986 4WD pu intermittently had low to no power and it was due to the fuel pump. Replaced the pump and it ran fine.
