There is no Bible verse that says that.

The picture The Bible paints regarding God's plan has to be "discovered" through its study.

"...the Word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken." (Isa.28:13)

The alleged "6000 years" allotted to man by God can be seen through the creation account, and the subsequent "7-day week" God gave man to "remind" him to "remember" creation, his Creator, and his Creator's plan of salvation and the restoration of the Kingdom of God to earth.

Peter's words, perhaps, are the strongest evidence of the alleged "6000" year "work week" God gave man... "to do the Satan-guided and influenced works that he does."

"...beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." (II Peter 3:8)

Applying this information regarding a "day" to a standard 6-day work week, allegedly, could put God's plan within a time frame of a "6000 year work week!!!

But, that leaves the "Sabbath day" unaccounted for to complete what one would think should "complete" the alleged "7000 year" 7-day week plan. So, we have to go elsewhere in the Bible [here a little, and there a little] in order to see if God mentions some kind of "thousand year" Sabbath rest at the end of the "week."

Well... there is the prophesied "thousand year rule of Christ," and His saints on earth at the end of man's rule [which Christ will bring to an end upon His return --

"...in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a Kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the Kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever." (Dan.2:44)

More than 30 prophecies throughout the Bible [here a little, and there a little] speak of the "DAY of the Lord," which refers to the coming of Jesus Christ to earth to establish the Kingdom of God... [which, if Peter's inspired words apply to this 'day' like the others... the "Day of the Lord" should be a thousand year day, also... don't you think? I'm just askin'].

"Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter... saying that the DAY of the Lord has already come." (II Thess.2:1-2 NIV)

[the DAY of the Lord refers to Jesus' return... when His thousand year {Sabbath Day} rule begins]

"...they [God's resurrected saints and live ones still on earth at the time of Jesus' return, gathered to Him in the clouds in the air] lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years." (Rev.20:4)

This prophesied "thousand year Day" coming at the conclusion of man's "alleged" 6000 year work week certainly completes an alleged 7000 year week [as it would be viewed in God's eyes, according to Peter - II Pet.3:8].

The Millennial Rule of Christ and His saints shall be a "thousand year Sabbath Day"... or "rest day" [that's what sabbath means]... the Sabbath of the Lord, that will complete the "7000 year-week" plan of God.

It's this thousand-year Sabbath-Day Rest of God [the return of Jesus Christ to the earth] that all of God's saints are looking for... or SHOULD be looking for.

"Therefore, since the promise of entering His rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard it did not combine it with faith. Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God said, 'So I declare on oath in My anger, They shall never enter My Rest.

"And yet His work has been finished since the creation of the world. For somewhere He has spoken about the seventh day in these words: 'And on the seventh day God rested from all His work.'

"And again in the passage above He says, 'They shall never enter My Rest.'

"It still remains that some will enter that Rest, and those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience.

"Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later He spoke through David, as was said before: 'Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.' For if Joshua had given them Rest, God would not have spoken later about another Day.

"THERE REMAINS, then A SABBATH-REST for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's Rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His.

"Let us, therefore, MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ENTER THAT REST, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience." (Heb.4:1-11 NIV)

So, no... there is no verse in the Bible that says straight out: 'God gave us 6000 years."

But, the "picture is painted" in the Bible... "here a little, and there a little."

And if man's "alleged" 6000 year work week is factual; since man's creation, we've got to be at least somewhere along on our "Friday" by now, shouldn't we? Or as God views it -- our allotted "sixth-thousandth day?"
