We don't believe in the rapture. We believe in the second coming of Christ. We will never know what will happen until it happens. We believe in the scriptural words: "You know not the day nor the hour". All we know is that we will be judged one by one and the saved (meaning going to the kingdom of heaven or going to purgatory) will go on the right side and the sinners will be left on the left. If you are on the left you will be left for Satan.

Roman Catholic AnswerThe various views on the end of the world and how it might come about are discussed in the link below. You could also get one or more of the books on the rapture (see below). Basically it is a fantasy that has been concocted by various popular authors and has nothing to do with Christianity.

Roman Catholic AnswerOf course not. "The rapture" is another heretical invention that has no basis in either Scripture OR Tradition. For a full discussion of the errors of this heresy, please see any of the books below, I have also listed a site on Catholic Answers that discusses these various errors [of the end times].

Rapture in the Catholic Church refers to a form of ecstasy that is sudden and violent. Rapture cannot be resisted, it is a form of possession by the Lord in the last stages of Mystical Prayer. St. Teresa of Avila gives a description and directions about Rapture.

.

However, from the way you phrased the question, I am assuming you are asking about the protestant view of the "Rapture" in which people will be caught up into the air. Catholicism, first of all, does not use the word "Rapture" to refer to this, however, of the many different theories about the rapture, Catholics would fall into the Amillennialism view in that the "millennium" is the period of history in which we are living now. As St. Paul says, in this, the last age, that is the age between the first coming of Christ and His Last Coming at the end of the world - this is it, this is the age in which we live, there will be no other. At the end of the world, those still alive will be "caught up" and the dead will be raised, and then - the END, and the final judgment.

.

For a complete description of all of this and the Catholic views on the other "rapture" theories, please see the link below.

If a non-Catholic man married a Catholic woman in a Catholic church and the marriage ends in divorce how does the Catholic Church view this marriage and can the man later become a Catholic?

He can certainly become Catholic. Divorce does not prevent one from participating in the Church in any way. The Church sees him as continuing to be involved in a nonsacramental, but valid, marriage. What he cannot do is to *remarry* since that would be adultery in the eyes of the Church.
