Hmm,, well there is not void space between heaven and hell. But I think I know what you mean. It is best described in the true story put forth by Christ in the gospels concerning the rich man in hell (Luke 16:19-31). Before Christ died, O.T. saints went to a place called Abrahams Bosom, or Paradise.
Paradise and Hell were described as two separate "compartments", one on one side, and one on the other in the belly of the earth, with a great gulf fixed between them. This great gulf in the center of the earth is likely the same Bottomless Pit referred to in Revelations (Rev 9:1-11).
Since the resurreciton and ascension of Christ into heaven with all of the Old Testament saints that used to occupy Paradise, the compartment side known previously as Abrahams Bosom is empty, but hell remains, which one day is to be cast into the lake of fire, at that time when the earth is destroyed at the end of the 1000 year millinial reign of Christ on Earth, as Gods final judgement on the lost (Revelation 20:7-15) So the void, is this gulf, that today would be known of as the bottomless Pit, or the sides of the pit (elsewhere in The Bible)from which "The Destroyer" angel will ascend from upon Earth during the seven year tribulation (Rev. 9:1-11).

I think its like purgatory; between heaven and hell where people get judged
earth
Purgatory or something like that.
Not as such for the word Hell is a place. However there was a battle between Lucifer (Satan) and his followers with God the father. Lucifer lost the battle and he and his followers were cast out of heaven to a place refered to as Hell or Outer darkness.
To Heaven from Hell was created in 1997.
You can in heaven but not in hell
the relationship between the heaven and the church is very simple. heaven simply means the sky so the church made people believe that the earth was the center of the universe. they used heaven as a way to get away from all the evil in the world. so the church used it as political gain and a way to strengthen the people of there country. they referred hell as a threat to say if you are a heratic you will go to hell. people in the dark ages were scared of hell. so they made a place called heaven in the skys amen.

There is a heaven, but it's above space or higher. Some religions say there's a hell, but in my religion (Jehovah's Witnesses) we believe there isn't a hell where bad people go when they die. We believe hell is just mankind's grave. It all depends on what you believe and who you ask.
