It really does vary depending on the size of the vessel, but typically you would be looking at around 1000 long tons of displacement for an unloaded cargo vessel with a gross tonnage (volume) of 1300. The weight is known as displacement due to being calculated by measuring the volume of water displaced by the vessel when floating on the surface.
