This site: http://www.pmak.org/public/propane_facts.html states the following:
The specific gravity of propane liquid is 0.504; water is 1.
Therefore 1 litre of propane weighs 0.504kg. (1 litre of water weighs 1kg)
I think that the correct answer is technically neener neener neener or Right, Sphix, thanks for the riddle. In other words, there is no right answer to this question. Pounds is a weight measure and gallons is volume measure. Weight != Volume.
Its bit like trying to calculate your bank balance using the air pressure in your car tires. They're not really related even though both of them relate to you.
Propane can be gas or liquid. Even as a liquid, it can vary widely in density based on the pressure it is under as well as the temprature it is being stored at.
31.7 pounds @ 60 degrees. And to get denisties of liquids from which you can calculate liquid propane and other weights, refer the link below.
Liquid propane weighs 4.23 pounds per gallon, about 1/2 the weight of water.
one pound of propane weights one pound
1 POUND!!!!
1lb, same as a pound of feathers!
There is a fair amount of variation, but the standard small 16.4oz (1 lb) propane cylinder usually weighs just about a pound when empty (Tare weight, or the weight of the container itself). It is then usually charged with 16oz (by weight) of liquid propane for a total of around 32iz (2 lb).In SummaryTare Weight: 16oz (weight of the container/bottle)Net Weight: 16oz (weight of the liquid propane fuel)Gross Weight 32oz (weight of a full bottle)or in more practical terms, the closer your bottle is to weighing 1 lb, the closer you are to empty.

A pound is 0.45 kilograms (or 1 kilogram is 2.2 pounds) or 16 ounces or 0.07 stones (1 stone is 14 pounds).

Pretty close to 1 pound. ???? 1 pound of glass will definitely weight 1 pound, hence it is 1 pound. question is is 1 pound of roofing nail heavier than 1 pound of cotton?
