AOrta
They enter and leave on the or at the superior border.
All bones have foramen in them. These are canals or openings through which nerves and blood vessels go.
Veins return, Arteries leave the heart.
Blood flows through veins to get to the heart. Arteries are blood vessels for the blood to leave the heart once it has been oxygenated.
The Aorta and the Vena Cava

The hilum is the part of the organ where vessels and nerves enter and leave. For most organs vessels and nerves enter an leave all over the place and not always near each other. However in the kidneys and lungs the major blood vessels enter at an area called the hilum.
Depleted blood enters and leaves the right side of the heart.
Four main blood vessels enter/exit the heart: two veins and two arteries. Oxygenated blood enters the left ventricle through the pulmonary vein. This same blood is then pumped out of the left atrium via the aorta. Meanwhile, de-oxygenated blood enters the heart in the vena cava; before leaving through the pulmonary artery.
It is not just one blood vessel that goes and come back from the lungs. Vessels that leave the heart are known as arterieswhile those that enters the heart are known as veins. The blood leaves the heart via the pulmonary trunk which terminates into 2 pulmonary arteries, one for each lung. The blood then leaves the lungs and enter the heart through 4 pulmonary veins, (all opening into the left atrium), of which each two are from one lung.
As blood leaves the left ventricle, it passes through the aortic valve an then into the aorta before being pumped throughout the rest of the body.
