"Extended family"?
Here you go every word I can think of that is a word that includes all:
Your nuclear family means your parents and siblings.
Your family descends from grandparents on either side, so you are their descendants.
Your ancestry means where your extended familyoriginates biologically.
Your next of kin is your closest blood relative; so if you and your spouse have no children and have out lived your parents s/he will be your next of kin - for the purpose of your estate, but in the generally accepted meaning of the word your spouse is not blood, therefore not next of kin.
ancestors, ancestry, biological family, blood, descendants, dynasty, extended family, family of: birth, family tree, family unit, folk, forebears, genealogical origin, heirs, heredity, kinship, lineage, progeny, posterity, relatives, relations, seed, spawn, stock, succession, successor, young -
# Siblings (brothers and sisters) share one or both parents. # Cousins share grandparents (but not parents). Example: children of my aunts and uncles. # Second cousins share great grandparents (but not grandparents). Example: grandchildren of my grandparents' brothers and sisters. If there is difference of one generation once speaks of a cousin 'once removed. In many modern Western societies relationship beyond second cousins is generally regarded as remote.
Cousins will show up as the children of your parent's brothers and sisters. You would want to show a descendant tree of your grandparents.
The children of your great grandmother's brothers are your first cousins, twice removed. They are also:first cousins of one of your grandparents; andfirst cousins once removed of one of your parents.
Second cousins are the people in your family who have the same great-grandparents as you, but not the same grandparents.
People who are related to you: parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents, etc.
Two people who share the same great great grandparents are third cousins. To find a cousin relationship, find the common ancestor. If common ancestor is grandparents, they are 1st cousins. If common ancestor is great-grandparents, they are 2nd cousins. If common ancestor is great-great-grandparents, they are 3rd cousins.
Two people who have the same great grandparents but have no closer relationship are second cousins. Their parents are first cousins and their grandparents are siblings.
If two people have grandparents who are second cousins, it means that their great-grandparents are siblings or cousins. Therefore, the two people are third cousins to each other.
You are the grandchild of your grandfather. If that grandfather had children other than your parent, and that child had a child - that person is your first cousin and also a grandchild of your grandfather. Your first cousins are, by definition, all those who are not your siblings but are also grandchildren of one of your grandparents. Remember that you have two sets of grandparents. Those first cousins who are related to you through one pair of grandparents are not related to your other grandparents at all.
You are never a member of the same generation as your grandparents or your parents. Your generation is the one that includes you, your siblings, and your first cousins, second cousins, etc.
Two people whose great grandparents were siblings are third cousins to each other. The children of siblings are first cousins. The grandchildren of siblings are second cousins to each other. The great grand children of siblings are third cousins to each other.
