As for Irish: If as a given name it would be the same.

If it's a surname it can be of two origins:

  • the Anglo-Norman Warren (de Warenne) which was gaelicized as Bharain;
  • an anglicized form of Marrinane (Ó Marannáin or Ó Marnáin) in Kenmare.
