It usually consists of working 12 hours on and then 12 hours off.

On most offshore installations they work a 2 week turnaround but more recently they seem to prefer working 3 weeks on and then have 3 weeks off. This usually involves alternating between nightshift and dayshift. There are some positions offshore that stay on either a constant nightshift or dayshift as ther job implies egNightpusheretc)
