So far, no one has been able to find any founder of Atheism. This is due to the fact that Atheism isn't a religion, it's not a political movement, it's not a trend, and it's not a philosophy. Therefore, it would be very difficult to find the first person to truly belief God doesn't exist. Aethiesm was not founded, it is the lack of religion. When groups began forming cults that collectively believed that various magical being created everything, those that didn't were simply classed as aethiests, whereas before 'religion' was invented aethiests comprised of the entire human race, so there was no need for a group name.

∙ 11y agoAtheis was never founded because it's not a religion. Atheists aren't an organized group of people. Atheist simply means someone who does not believe in the existence of deity. The word, "atheist," comes from the Greek, "atheos," meaning "without god." According to Wikipedia, the word "atheist" first cropped up sometime in the 18th century.

∙ 9y agoAtheism is not an organization, fellowship or club so it was never founded. Atheism is a the simple understanding that these is no god or gods. It is a position that was held long before religion was invented. Mark Twain states that the point in time that atheism was supplanted as man's standard position on the need or existence of gods as "Religion was invented when the first con man met the first fool."
