Best Answer

The yellow gas in the atmosphere of Venus is actually sulfuric acid. This acid, H2SO4, is a strong acid that will eat through many different materials. It is commonly found in the electrolyte in vehicular batteries. If people went to Venus and it rained, they'd be looking at a new definition of acid rain. Nothing we've ever sent down to the surface has survived for very long there; it's far too hostile a place for men or even equipment.
