The "village" of Palm Springs is a great place to visit, even if just for the weather. Of course there is the tram that takes you up thousands of feet and gives a gorgeous view od the Coachella Valley. 2014 is the last season of the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies. The Thursday evening bazaar downtown is loaded with great craftsman and their wares, as well as food and music. There are several huge pro-am Golf tournaments and the Indian Wells tennis spectacular. It's also gay friendly if that is your thing.
