The best way to find out where to set your timing is start at TDC then advance 1 -2 degrees at a time. Drive it to check keep advancing till engine starts to ping then retard 2 degrees and tighten down. Should be about 2 degrees BFTDC. All engines are not the same. The higher octane gas you use the futher ahead you can set the timing. If you set it too far ahead Valves could hit pistons. you want ingition just before your piston hits TDC on the power stroke
