The official definition for the word tocopherol is "any of several closely related compounds, found in wheat germ oil, egg yolk, and leafy vegetables, that collectively constitute vitamin E. They are fat-soluble alcohols with antioxidant properties, important in the stabilization of cell membranes."
E
cholecalciferol. Or it could be calciferol.
Alpha-Tocopherol
Alpha-tocopherol is a version of vitamin E that contains no double bonds. When alpha-tocopherol is delivered to the liver via chylomicron reminants it binds to a binding protein to become rrr-alpha-tocopherol. RRR-alpha-tocopherol is incorporated into VLDL (very low density lipoproteins) membranes and is delivered to perpherial tissues and to LDL. RRR-alpha-tocopherol acts as an antioxidant to prevent polyunsaturated fatty acids from oxidation within VLDL and LDL. Without rrr-alpha-tocopherol oxidation of this fatty acids can occur and cause atherosclerosis.
tocopherol
tocopherol
Yes, but vitamin E is written as "Alpha Tocopherol" in chemical formula.
It is organic molecule.
The term Vitamin E is used. Or if you want to talk biochemistry then tocopherol (mainly alpha-tocopherol, but it includes a group of similar chemicals).
Tocopherol and tocotrienol
Tocopheryl acetate, also known as vitamin E acetate, is a common vitamin supplement with the molecular formula C31H52O3. It is the ester of acetic acid and tocopherol (vitamin E).
it's a type of Vitamin E.
