The example above, 12.689 can be truncated in anyway the question asked u to. E.g. Truncate 12.689 by (1d.p.). Instead of rounding like normal, 12.7. We truncate it to 12.6. Whenever you truncate, you do not round like how you would round normally in rounding. You just simply get rid of the numbers behind.
