"Twilight" concerns 17-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) who moves to live with her father Charlie (Billy Burke) in the small town of Forks, Washington. Think of "Twin Peaks" and you'll have some idea of the film's setting and visual flavor. The quiet Bella makes friends quickly at her new school. Despite advances from numerous awkward teenage boys, Bella is most drawn to Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson,) a pale-skinned heartthrob known for giving the cold shoulder to all interested girls. When Bella and Edward are paired together as lab partners in biology the usually calm Edward panics, trying to transfer out of the class. Edward is one of several odd teenagers of the Cullen family to attend the school. The other students don't know quite what to make of them and wonder how their parents manage to let them skip school on especially sunny days. The confused and angered Bella does not begin to understand until a freak accident. One of her friends skids on the wet streets and his van comes hurtling towards her. Edward, who moments ago stood watching across the street swoops in and deflects the car with his bare hands before disappearing. The intelligent Bella then begins to put the pieces together. Soon after the accident she confronts Edward with her suspicion: he's a vampire. A romance develops between the two and Edward brings her home to meet the family, a group of unorthodox vampires that refuse to drink the blood of humans. Trouble arises for the couple when a nomadic coven of vampires discover Bella's connection to the Cullen family and vow to make her their next victim.
Honestly the book is much more superior compared to the movie and the first time you see it you think "wow this is the cheesiest thing ever", but once you see it again and are able to understand the meaning of Edward and Bella's actions and words, it truly starts to grow on you. My suggestion?? Read the books first and then see the movie. You don't have to read all 4 books to truly understand what you are watching, just read the first.
