  • Protect yourself from potential dangers by donning appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as closed-toe shoes, safety goggles, and ear protection.
  • Before using the pillar drill, ensure that it is securely mounted on a stable workbench or floor to prevent any instability or wobbling.
  • Before starting the machine, make sure the drill bit is securely fastened in the chuck and that it is the right size for the material being drilled. Free or inappropriately got boring apparatus can cause mishaps.
  • During operation, keep your hands, loose clothing, and any other objects away from the machine's moving parts and the rotating drill bit. Secure the workpiece with clamps or other suitable tools to stop it from spinning or moving out of the blue.
  • Check the machine's speed settings before drilling and adjust them based on the material and drill bit size. Using the drill at low speeds may result in inefficient drilling or excessive machine strain, while operating it at high speeds may result in overheating or breakage.

Wear safety PPE to include Safety glasses, Safety boots and non loose clothing. Gloves should be avoided as these can get easily entangled. Clamp your workpiece down adn secure the vice using the bolt clamps. ensure sufficient cutting fluid is used and select the correct drill speed (smaller drillbit = Higher RPM).
