ACE inhibitors lower your blood pressure. For the fuller story, see below...
"ACE" is an acronym for Angiotensin Converting Enzyme. The liver makes an enzyme called Angiotensinogen. This is modified by another enzyme (renin), and is then renamed Angiotensin I.
Its changed into its functional form, Angiotensin II, by ACE (formed in the lungs). Among its other functions, Angiotensin II constricts or narrows the diameter of blood vessels, making blood pressure go up. So, an ACE inhibitor, slows down the conversion of Angiotensin I into Angiotensin II, resulting in lower blood pressure.
ACE inhibitors also may be used to treat congestive heart failure
ACE-inhibitors cause an increase in bradykinin, this can cause a dry cough in some patients.
They are also called Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors
They also called ACE inhibitors
ace inhibitors
Ace inhibitors or angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors block an enzyme which narrows blood vessels and and reduces blood pressure. Some are combined with a diuretic. Benazepril, captrolil, and enalpril are some of the generics.
ACE inhibitors are not universally contraindicated after nephrectomy, but their use requires careful consideration. In patients with a single kidney or reduced renal function post-nephrectomy, ACE inhibitors can potentially lead to renal impairment or hyperkalemia. Therefore, they should be used cautiously, with close monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes. It's essential to assess individual patient circumstances before initiating therapy.
i think its the Lotensin
cough
ACE inhibitors make blood vessels relax, which helps lower blood pressure and allows more oxygen-rich blood to reach the heart
Dry cough
Beta blockers and ACE inhibitors have an affect on people's experiences during tattooing. For instance, people on beta blockers and ACE inhibitors report not being able to sit for tattoos as long as they would like. Additionally, it decreases people's threshold for pain, making the tattoo experience less pleasurable.
