Take electrical tape either colored (if you want to be able to see the tape clearly) or black (if you just want to make a subtle marking that won't be noticable from far away) and cut a thin strip about 3/8" wide and as long as is necessary to span the distance between your C and A strings, no longer. Slide the tape under all of the strings above the spot on the fingerboard that you want to mark. Press down on the tape.
