Begin by removing the middle of your 1992 Mitsubishi Montero steering will. Remove the wiring harness. Remove the steering wheel retaining bolts.
The Mitsubishi Montero is okay for offroad driving. It is by no means even close to being ideal for it. You're better off looking for a well equipped American built 4x4 Truck.
If it's anything like my 01 montero 4x4, its not fun. you have to remove the wheel bearing, and repack it. takes time and patience. your better off taking it to a garage for this one.

It sounds like there is a bad ground in the relay portion of the starting circuit.
