Normally, before commencing the questioning, the deposing attorney recites the "rules of the road" that apply to depositions-to answer with an audible response rather than a gesture or nod of the head; to wait for attorney to finish question before beginning answer; don't guess or speculate but attorney entitled to best estimate; under oath so testimony has same weight as testimony in court; testimony can be used to impeach at trial, etc. To waive these admonitons would presume deponent is familiar with the process.
