To achieve said wisdom is likely the goal of every philosopher. It may be the case, however, that wisdom is considered a virtue. For instance, Aristotle considered prudence(practical wisdom) to be the most important virtue since it connects all other virtues (temperance, courage, etc.) in their foundations.
