NO. It has nothing to do with the MPG of gas. But the ring and pinion gear ratio does.

No but if you corner too fast your drivetrain will snap. This is because your wheels turn at different speeds when you corner. Only lock your differential when you get stuck in mud or sand.

You have broken a CVD or try locking your differentials. I doubt it is the differentials you Amy want to clean it and reoil it to see what happens another weakness i have found is the small bevel gears inside the differentials have a tendancy to lose a tooth or two this also causes the diff to lock one wheel or just not work at all leaving it front wheel drive only
