Women are never discriminated against in the Hindu faith. Interestingly, a few of the major deities of Hindu worship are all female goddesses like Lakshmi, saraswathi, etc. More importantly, the goddess of power, Shakthi, is a female goddess. However, the religious faith was bent accordingly by a section of the people to downgrade women in the system. Notwithstanding the sufferings and discrimination, women have come out of the old practices, and are treated equally in Hinduism.
