What is wrong if an Air Conditioning Unit is not turning off It stays running and never auto shuts down?

Have you checked the temperature control? Someone may have turned it down much lower than it was before and the unit cannot cool the house or room down that far. Other possibilities are that the AC unit has a refrigerant leak and is not cooling the air properly, or the compressor or its motor have stopped working but the main air fan still runs? So, if you have checked the temperature control and the unit still doesn't shut off even if you set a higher temperature, the best advice anyone should give you is to call an HVAC ( Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) technician to check the unit and advise you. They have the right test equipment, tools, training and experience to be able to find out what is wrong. It is not a Do It Yourself job to repair an AC unit. Alternative advice which will not solve the propblem if the Air Conditioner Unit has a fault: Try pulling the plug. Alternately, buy a outlet timeclock and plug the A/C into the clock.

If you mean a inertia switch that shuts off the fuel pump in case of a wreck or something, No. The computer shuts it off if the engine is not running.
