I just had that problem with my 1998 olds, it is either the thermostat, the water pump, or your fans are not working to cool down the engine. narrow it down by starting with the thermostat, then check to see if your cooling fan fuse is not burned out, then go to autozone and they will check your water pump for free. A 3.8 of the same series from any GM Division. 3.4 do not share the same bolt pattern. 3.5 Intrigue engines are only in certain Intrigues and Auroras, and do not share the bolt battern with 3.8s. But this comes from someone who has put a 455 Toro in the rear of an S10, and a W-41 in a Fiero. Anything goes in anything if you are creative. :)
