i should check 1st of all battery if battery is good then i should check gasoline from car other wise i should gasoline pump is working properly?
..... Few things, make sure its in gear (P). If it turns over (clicks and you hear something sound like it spins then stops) then check the Battery Terminals. If you see a kind of crust around the positive and negative posts you need to take a wire brush and brush it all away. CAUTION though, its battery acid and inhaling/swallowing it doesnt feel so good (I used to work for AAA as a battery truck). look away or wear sunglasses/goggles, dont breathe and keep scrubbing untill you see it all gone away. if you dont wanna do this and find out that wasnt a problem, tell someone to wiggle the POSITIVE wire and you or someone else try to start it. if it works, all you need to do is clean the post/wires. make sure you take the positive plug off the positive terminal post and clean the inside. then take some petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and lube it up, put it back on, tighten it, and you should be good to go
Do a bit more research. Unplug one plug wire and set it up close to ground. If you can still start the car, watch it. If the spark stops then the car dies it's electrical.
If not I'd guess it's a fuel problem. Had something similar happen to a 70 Stigray. Bits of rust in the fuel system had collected in the filters. They would allow initial pressure, but clog up quickly as you drove it. Worsened every time you filled it up and stired the tank.
If you can, check your fuel pressure. Keep in mind a fuel injected car can run 80psi fuel pressure! It may be able to get the initial pressure required, but not be able to keep up with the flow demands under load.
First off I'd say replace your fuel filters. It's probably time anyway.
I wouldn't recommend doing both tests in the same day. :)
When you start it again try holding the key in the start positon when it starts
This is part of your security feature. Your ignigtion switch is on the way out. Sometimes you have to wait for the security light to shut off. During this time the car wont start, but once the light goes out. The car starts right up.
It can be many things. Bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, blown fuel pump fuse, bad fuel pump relay, and many other things. You have to determine what you are missing, fuel or spark. Then you will know if it is a fuel delivery problem or electrical problem.
That happened to me before, and I was practically out of gas. I added gas, and all was well.
You need new wheels.
Could be telling you it needs a serious tune up.
Your battery terminals probably need cleaning.
Fuel pump problem-To rule out a failing fuel pump -you must check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure tester if its within specs-you start here
Because of the battery.
Check timing belt
The reason your 2001 Hyundai Sonata lost all power while you were driving and stalled and won't start again is either the battery or the alternator. If you have no power you most likely have an alternator problem.
A faulty alternator will cause those symptoms. You might want to get t checked out.
while i was driving my car shuts off at nite while the lights are on, and i got it started back up and shuts off and comes back on ******************************************************** If you have a bad alternator it can cause starting problems. More likely because you were driving and not charging the battery, while draining it. The alternator re-charges while you drive. When you turned it off & came back the next day there was not enough juice.
Replace the ignition coil.
the ignition switch could be bad
Have someone check your fuel pump pressure,if you lose fuel pressure while driving, and then it comes back that would explain why it seems to start by itself.
it may be the o2 scensor
the battery is flat or its to old
i believe so, take it to a local kragen and have them check your battery for free.
Died while driving? Alternator
if it won't start up again chances are it's probably your fuel pump
If your 2000 Ford Expedition shuts off while driving it you should discontinue use of the vehicle immediately. Then have the vehicle towed to your local dealership or mechanic shop to address the problem,
Have engine computer tested
There could be a few reasons why a 2000 Chevy Impala shuts off while driving. There could be a problem with the fuel pump, a bad spark plug, or even a loose battery cable.
Does it re-start right away, if so, then check the sensor on the air intake.
if no warning and it just shuts down but dash lights and radio light up check ignition switch
